In Champaign County, the Illinois education system provides educational services for children with special needs. The most effective service system includes a smooth transition from one part to the next. During transition, there are many questions to be answered. To be sure you have appropriate transition information, contact your Service Coordinator, Developmental Therapist, or school Social Worker. You may request information, a tour, or a meeting to address your concerns.

Early Intervention
Early Intervention is for children under three years old.

Early Childhood programs are for the 3-5 year olds, or pre-kindergarten

Elementary School
Elementary School includes grades Kindergarten through 5th grade

Middle School
Middle School is grades 6-8

High School
High School is grade 9-12 or until age 21
