Attendance:

Cheri Adams (Child Care Resource Service), Carol Carlton (Child Care Resource Service), Becci Cline (CFC #16), Felicia Gooler (Developmental Services Center), Mark Driscoll (Champaign County Mental Health Board), Mary Anne Wilson (Mental Health Center of Champaign County), Cherylanda Trice (Crisis Nursery), Cindy Busick (Champaign County Head Start/Early Head Start), Mary-alayne Hughes (University of Illinois), Ruth Meyers-Dunnum (Washington Early Childhood Center), Denise Novak (Division of Specialized Care for Children).

Old Business:

  • Child and Family Connections #16 Report: Becci Cline presented CFC #16 data.
  • The invoice for the website has been submitted. The total for the 2007-2008 year is $1145.00. A meeting to discuss what services are included in this amount will be arranged.
  • Revisited the Council strategic plan and set up a few goals for each of the following: Transition
    • Empowering Parents
    • Informing professional in writing transition plans
  • Child Find
    • Distribute flyers to child care providers
    • Distribute posters in public places (churches, stores restaurants)
  • Public Awareness
    1. Council members present about their agencies on a quarterly basis.
    2. Improve and update website
  • Provider Recruitment
    • Recruit people that are credentialed
    • Recruit students looking for employment after graduation

New Business:

Discussed recruitment of new co-chairs for 2008-2009, will revisit at May meeting.
