Agency Announcements

Cheri Adams and Carol Carlton announced that there will be a child safety seat check on Saturday May 19 th from 10-2 at State Farm on Country Fair Drive in Champaign.

Felicia Gooler announced that DSC has once again received a grant from the Urbana Police to give car seats to families in need; they have regular car seats as well as adaptive car seats available. Call DSC at 359-0287 for more information.

Felicia Gooler also announced that there are three positions currently available at DSC, an Occupational Therapist, a Social Emotional Specialist and a Mental Health Specialist. Email Felicia Gooler if interested

Old Business

Minutes for April were approved.

Becci Cline reported for Child and Family Connections. She distributed statistics for Champaign County. Referrals for Champaign County were up; there were 45 referrals in the month of March and 35 referrals in the month of April.

She distributed flyers for upcoming trainings.

Becci also told the council that provider recruitment is a requirement and that the council needs to plan a provider recruitment event for next year.

New Business:

The council voted on final spending of the 2006-2007 budget. It was decided to spend the remaining funds on letterhead, tear offs for the posters and to pay for the second quarter advertisement in Central Illinois Families.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 21, 2007 from 8:45-9:45 at Mental Health Center of Champaign County at 1801 Fox Dr. in Champaign.
