She reported that referrals were down for the month of April compared to the other counties in the CFC. Christy Lee reported that D. Mortan from Carle Pediatrics would be presenting at the Downs Syndrome Network at 7:00 p.m. this evening. The meeting is being held at Developmental Service Center. Mary Anne Wilson reported that Monday May22nd there would be a recruiting event for ECIAEYC (East Central Illinois Association for the Education of Young Children). She also reported that the “Help Book”(that is sponsored by the United Way) will be going to print soon and will be available in early June. Old BusinessMinutes from April were approved with a few amendments. Cheri Adams and Carol Carlton were both left off the attendance and it was requested that we change the wording of the reference books to Early Intervention Desk References. The LIC’s budget must be spent no later than June 30, 2006. The council decided to allocate the remainder of the money in the following ways:
Christy Lee will continue on as the Parent Co-Chair for Champaign County and Felicia Gooler will take over as Professional Co-Chair beginning July 1 st. Mary Anne Wilson reported on the Grant Writing Workshop. The workshop will be held on October 6, 2006 from 10-12 at the University of Illinois Extension Office. It will be a basic grant-writing workshop for Health and Human Service Professionals. There will be no cost to participate. New Business:The Family Resiliency Center located on the University of Illinois Campus allows students and University professionals to partner with local organizations and families to address issues affecting families such as divorce, adoption and trauma. Next MeetingThe next meeting is scheduled for June 15, 2006 from 8:45-9:45 at Mental Health Center of Champaign County at 1801 Fox Dr. in Champaign. AdjournmentMeeting Adjourned.
