MinutesOctober 20 , 2005 AttendanceCheri Adams (CCRS), Becci Cline (CFC), Roberta Cundiff (CFC), Shay Henderson (CFC), Christy Lee (Parent Co-chair), Lisa Mosely (Champaign Pre-K), Jeanne Murray (Carle), Susan Sullivan (Uof I), Mary Anne Wilson (United Way), Marilee Wright (Mental Health Center), Marcia Zumbahlen (Mental Health Specialist), Hollie Ronk (LIC Coordinator) Agency AnnouncementsCheri Adams announced that Child Care Resource Service has collected grant application s and are now looking for volunteers to read grants. Individuals will read the grants on their own and then get together as a group to review all the grants together. If anyone is interested they can contact CCRS at 333-3252. Mary Anne Wilson discussed the Community Vision Plan Committee that is putting together a 20year strategic plan for the community. She handed out upcoming meeting dates that will be held as an open forum. Mary Anne Wilson also informed us that “Project 18” will be issuing a community report card. They will need input and data from community agencies. Old BusinessMinutes from September were approved. Mar Anne Wilson motioned for approval, Lisa Mosely seconded. Becci Cline passed out statistics on referrals for the month of September. Hollie Ronk presented an updated 2005-2006 budget. The budget reflected a $3000.00 allowance as allotted by the state. During the budget presentation a gentleman from the Kiwanis Club came in and presented the council with a donation of $300.00. Adjustments were made to the budget to reflect the additional $300.00. Mary Anne Wilson moved to approve the budget as amended and Becci Cline seconded. Mary Anne Wilson reported on the Public Awareness Committee. The committee has updated the strategic plan. A new goal is to have two articles about the council published in The News Gazette. The Child Find and Transition Committee has almost completed the Early Intervention reference book. It will be distributed to local Physicians in order to increase their awareness if EI services. The Provider Recruitment Committee will again hold an informational meeting to recruit providers in the spring of 2006. Jeanne Murray will generate a questionnaire via the list serve to find out what type of training the council is interested in for 2005-2006 for the Training Committee New BusinessRoberta Cundiff, the social/emotional consultant for CFC #16 talked about her role as a provider for CFC #16. She uses the Ages and Stages Questionnaire- Social Emotional (ASQ-SE) and has also done training with the developmental therapists on administering the assessment. Her focus is on creating stability with in the family unit or with the primary caregiver therefore creating an environment that will ensure infants and toddlers will reach their social/emotional potential. She also helps parents and primary caregivers focus on the importance of emotional growth and development. Shay Henderson, the newly appointed Parent Liaison said that she will be working with parents to answer questions they have about EI and will organize support groups with families. Christy Lee our Parent Co-Chair reported that she had received feedback from local parent support group members on what would be a reasonable time for them to collaborate with the Local Interagency Council. She reported that they would be most interested in meeting with us on a Saturday morning. Recruitment of 1 or 2 members from each local support group to come to an informational breakfast or lunch would help to inform local support groups about our council and hopefully solicit parent participation.
