Old Business

Council reviewed minutes. Three amendments were made to the November minutes 1) Under old business Pat Boce was not in attendance, rather it was Diane Rothenberg 2) Under new business there is a typo, it should be prospective rather than perspective 3) Under old business there was a typo, it should be copying rather than coping. Mark Driscoll motioned to approve the minutes and Ruth Myers seconded the motion. Minutes with amendments were approved unanimously.

Committee Updates:

  • Child Find and Transition: Julie Grygiel reported that there has been discussions held about the updating of the transition binders. They will not be all updated until February she received confirmation that that the committee will be given time and support to do so at the February meeting and the committee will send reminders to bring any updated materials to that meeting
  • Provider Recruitment: Lisa Mosley discussed how Becky Kline was contacted and was informed that speech therapists and an occupational therapist for in home is still needed
  • Public Awareness: no update

New Business

Amy Santos plans to have a letter written by Christmas to the editor of the News Gazette concerning the "Clear Blue Water" comic strip. It was noted by Carla Oldham that the parent perspective is good; however there is a poor perspective of the child with autism. This letter will be informative about this council and all of the resources out there to heighten awareness.

Judy Hartley motioned to make a donation for Holly's father, who recently passed away, to a memorial fund if available or for a $50 gift certificate to Prairie Gardens to buy a plant/tree to be planted in his memory. Carla Oldham seconds this motion and it is passed unanimously.
